We have received 250 native plants!
You are welcome to come out and see these great additions and maybe put a few in the ground.
If you let me know when you are out there I can stop by and provide a few pointers. Available most days.
Thanks to a great deal of effort from our volunteers we have new trails leading to the confluence of Boise Creek. Also, many new places to plant natives.
We have until March to plant these — but the sooner the better.
These are easy to plant and are very high quality:
– Crab Apple
– Oso Berry
– Thimble Berry
– Ocean Spray
– Evergreen Huckleberry
– Mock orange
– The other fun task will be to cut live stakes from the PSE planting and plant them along the waterway with a pilot hole using rebar (stored onsite).
Foothills Trail Native Habitat Restoration Community Outdoor Classroom and Gathering Place
What & When: We are planting native plants every Wednesday 10 am. until 1 pm.
Where: Corner of SR410 and SE 456th Street
Bring a shovel, gloves and your own personal water and join the fun!
Dress for the weather
Our plan is to revegetate the entire distance from Warner Ave to the new White River Foot Bridge with native plants. You will be volunteering for the city of Enumclaw Parks Department at the direction of EPCA – Enumclaw Plateau Community Association.
Why: Our habitat is crumbling at a rapid pace. We all need to correct our past impact on the land so it can heal and create a healthy habitat for humans, fish and wildlife.
Once we meet you and spend a little time getting to know you. Then, you can visit and work on the site on your schedule. You will be able to do more restoration work when you are on your time. There is always more to do!
